Pamela Grimm

Pamela M. Grimm was born on May 3, 1943 the daughter of Leonard Matthes and Lucille (Emert) Matthes at Sabetha, Kansas. She attended several schools but returned to Sabetha and graduated from Sabetha High School. After graduation she moved to Yuma, Arizona and attended cosmetology school. She was united in marriage to Larry R. Grimm on June 16, 1963 in Sabetha, Kansas. Three children were born to this union. Pam worked with Larry on the farm and enjoyed working with the milk cows. Pam was a hairdresser in Sabetha. She also worked at the Sabetha Manor as a dietician for 25 years. Pam enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren participate in their academics and athletics. She attended the First Lutheran Church in Sabetha.


Pam died on December 31, 2009 at the Sabetha Community Hospital at the age of 66. She was preceded in death by her father, a daughter, Carrie Grimm-Dalinghaus on April 3, 2003. She is survived by her mother, Lucille Matthes of Sabetha; her husband, Larry R. Grimm of the home in Sabetha; one daughter, Vicki Edelman and her husband, Dwight of Sabetha; one son, Chris Grimm and his wife, Cherie of Sabetha; one brother, Greg Matthes of Columbus, Mississippi; one sister, Didi LaChance and her husband, Joe of Lincoln, Nebraska and 6 grandchildren, Quentin Edelman, Kortney Edelman, Kyle Grimm, Kaleb Grimm, Jacob Grimm and Joshua Grimm.


Funeral service will be Monday, January 4, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Sabetha. A visitation will be Sunday evening 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Popkess Mortuary Chapel in Sabetha. The interment will be in the Albany Cemetery north of Sabetha. Memorial contribution may be made to the Carrie Grimm-Dalinghaus Memorial Scholarship Fund sent in care of the funeral home.
