Patricia Flentie

Patricia Jean Flentie, 56, of Sterling, (formerly of Tecumseh) passed away Sept. 9, 2009 at Belle Terrace in Tecumseh. She was born to Merlin and Gladys (Hidy) Flentie on July 15, 1953 at Seneca, Kansas. Patty was baptized at the United Church of Christ in Centralia, Kansas in 1955. She graduated from Centralia High School in 1971.

She lived in Centralia, Kansas until moving to Tecumseh in January, 1972 to begin employment with the Campbell Soup Company. She worked for the Campbell Soup Company until January, 1997. She later worked at Belle Terrace in Tecumseh from January 1999 until January 2009.

Patty enjoyed providing daycare for her special friends Becky, Kaleb and Noah Williams, and her cat, Tanner. Patty liked to take pictures and she did stamp collecting.

She passed away at Belle Terrace in Tecumseh, September 9, 2009 at the age of 56 years.

She is survived by her sister, Julie Wright and husband Larry of Humboldt, brother, Brad Flentie of Centralia, KS, sister-in-law, Pat Flentie, nephew, Jerod Flentie, nieces, Amy Boeckman, Rebecca Carver and Kara Ronnebaum, aunts, Millie Green and husband Merle of Lathrup, MO and Ruby Weixelman of Wichita, KS, uncle John Hidy and wife Pat of Plattsburg, MO, numerous great nieces and great nephews and special friends, Jim and Susan Williams and their children of Sterling, NE.

Patty was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Mike Flentie, great-niece, Mariah Boeckman and great-nephew, Ty Flentie.

Funeral services will be held at the United Church of Christ, Centralia, Kansas at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 14, 2009 with Rev. Deanna Lewis officiating. Visitation will be held at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh, NE, Friday, Sept. 11, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 13th at Hayes-Popkess Mortuary in Centralia, KS from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Centralia Cemetery, Centralia, KS. Memorials may go to the American Cancer Society. The Hayes-Popkess Mortuary in Centralia is in charge of arrangements.
