Patrick “Pat” Joseph Terry, 86, of Sabetha, Kansas, passed away on January 29, 2026.
Patrick was born on March 26, 1939, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Charles and Frances Terry. He later moved to Kewanee, Illinois, where he graduated from high school. Following his education, Patrick proudly served his country in the United States Army.
Patrick was first married to Roseann Strathaus, and from this marriage had three children: John, Charles, and Melissa. He later moved to Chillicothe, Missouri, where he met and married Donna Saale Bloodworth on April 8, 1974, and helped raise her two children, Debby and Bob.
Patrick worked in sales for a safety equipment corporation, specializing in gloves and footwear accessories. His career led him and Donna to a small lake community outside Fort Wayne, Indiana, where he enjoyed fishing, golfing, and spending time in his wood shop. In 2007, Patrick retired and moved to Sabetha, Kansas, to be closer to family.
A talented woodworker, Patrick, spent countless hours crafting clocks, furniture, and other handcrafted pieces. After moving to Sabetha, he devoted much of his time to making wooden rocking chairs for others. A devout Catholic, Patrick was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sabetha and attended early morning Mass whenever possible.
Patrick will be remembered for his strong faith, skilled craftsmanship, and deep devotion to his family and friends. His legacy will live on in the many lives he touched.
Patrick was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Donna Terry; his son, Bob Bloodworth; and his son-in-law, Alaan Escamilla.
Patrick is survived by his children, Debby (Alvin) Thompson, Charles Terry, John (Faith) Terry, and Melissa Escamilla; his grandchildren; his great-grandchildren; and his brothers, Peter (Joan) Terry, Tom (Patricia) Terry, and Tim Terry.
A graveside memorial service will be held later this spring. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Sabetha Food Pantry in Sabetha, sent in care of Popkess Mortuary, 823 Virginia Street, Sabetha, Kansas 66534.
