Raymond L Ralston, 83, of Pharr, Texas passed away Thursday, November 24, 2022 at the Legends Transitional Care Center in McAllen, Texas.
Raymond was born on April 8, 1939 in Sabetha, Kansas, the son of Alfred and Nila (Kling) Ralston. He was raised on a farm in the Capioma, Kansas area south of Sabetha and graduated from Sabetha High School with the class of 1958. While growing up and working on the family farm, Raymond raised and showed hogs with 4-H. After graduation, he worked in Sabetha at Summers IGA in the meat market and Sabetha Lanes bowling alley.
Raymond later moved to Topeka, Kansas and worked for Merchants National Bank and then lived in Shawnee, Kansas where he was employed with Bank-Line Mid America. On August 14, 1982, Raymond married Sandra Lindsay and they enjoyed 31 wonderful years together until her death on March 26, 2014. Raymond and Sandy spent their retirement years residing in Pharr, Texas.
Raymond was an avid sports fan and cheered for the Kansas City Royals, Kansas City Chiefs, and the Kansas State Wildcats. He also enjoyed attending his great-nephews and great-nieces sporting events and activities. Raymond and Sandy loved bowling, participated in several weekly leagues, and enjoyed attending state and national tournaments. He also enjoyed reading especially Zane Grey westerns. Throughout his life, Raymond was an animal lover, having many faithful dogs that he loved to spoil.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Nila; his wife, Sandy; and his sister, Sally Miller.
Raymond is survivor by a step-son, Bill Lowe of Pharr, Texas; a sister, Betty Stoller of Falls City, Nebraska; two nephews, Mike (Joleen) Stoller of Falls City, Nebraska and Jeff (Deb) Stoller of Lincoln, Nebraska; two nieces, Steph (Erik) Olson of Atkinson, Nebraska and Pam (significant other Patrick) of Singleton, Panama City, Florida; and his longtime friends, Carroll and Sharon Smith of Topeka, Kansas.
