Rebecca Sue Carlson, 39, went to be with her lord on February 23, 2009 at Hutchinson, Kansas.

She was born December 11, 1969 at Topeka, Kansas the daughter of Ivan and Rebecca (Polly). Becky spent most of her youth in Axtell, Kansas and graduated from Axtell High School in 1988 as Valedictorian of her class. Becky graduated Magna Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Arts from Emporia State University in 1991. In December 1992 she received her Masters of Library Science from Emporia State University. She began working July 1, 1993 at Hutchinson Community College Library.

She was a member of the Vermillion Christian Church in Vermillion, Kansas.

Becky is survived by her parents Ivan and Polly Carlson; one sister Beth (Doug) Schmitz, Salina, Kansas; a brother, Bill (Barb) Carlson, Conway, Arkansas; three nieces, Jordan Schmitz, Devon Schmitz and Ryan Grace Schmitz; a nephew, Jake Schmitz, Salina, Kansas; her aunts and uncles, June (Max) Carlson Masters, Elmer (Nadine) Carlson, both of Yuma, Arizona, Sue (Kenneth) Copeland, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; James (Patricia) Carlson, Axtell, Kansas, George (DeeAnn) Garrett, Plaucherville, Louisiana, and Josephine Carlson, Fresno, California.

Becky was preceded in death by her grandparents, George L. and Grace Garrett and Oscar and Mary Carlson; Uncles Eugene Carlson and Glen Alexander; and cousins, Janyce Carlson Milner and Robert Carlson.

Funeral Services will be Friday February 27, 2009 at 1:00 PM at the Vermillion Christian Church in Vermillion, Kansas. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Axtell, Kansas. There will be a family visitation one hour prior to service time at the Vermillion Christian Church.

Memorials may be made to the Vermillion Christian Church or the American Heart Association and sent in care of the Landreth-Popkess Funeral Home at Axtell, Kansas
