Ruby Watkins

R uby Watkins, 89, of Sabetha, Kansas passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at the Apostolic Christian Home.
Ruby was born February 24, 1927 in Axtell, Kansas. She grew up in the Dearborn, Missouri area. She married Everett Watkins on February 12, 1944 in Seneca, Kansas. She ran a catering service and also a Daycare in Sabetha for many years. Ruby enjoyed crocheting stocking caps, dish towels, mittens and scarves. She made stocking caps for Topeka Missions and for the children at the Sabetha Headstart.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Everett on September 11, 1976; and children, Darryl, Jeanette and David, and several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her four children; Mary Chandler of Falls City, NE, Wanda Moore of Buena Vista, CO, Dennis Watkins of Horton, KS, and Doug Watkins of Hiawatha, KS; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be Monday, September 19, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the NorthRidge Church in Sabetha. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will be made at the Sabetha Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Topeka Rescue Mission, sent in care of the funeral home, 823 Virginia, Sabetha, KS 66534.
