Sherry Frye

S herry Lee Frye, 60, of Morrill Kansas, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 16, 2013. Her husband and two sons were by her side when she passed peacefully in her home. The family thanks Hospice for their compassionate and dedicated service.

Sherry was born on November 25, 1952 in Topeka Kansas, to Archie and Carolyn (Bolger) Vaughan. She was the elder to her sister Karen. On January 14, 1972, she married Frederick Thomas Frye at Victory Tabernacle in Topeka Kansas. They went on to have two sons and several foster children during their time in Topeka. In 1992, the family moved to Morrill Kansas.

Sherry was best known for her love of the Lord, her dedication to family, and care and concern for members of the community. She was hardly ever without her husband by her side, a grandchild in her lap, and a Bible in her hand. She loved and served her husband with all of her heart, and left an incredible impact and testimony on all those whose lives she touched. You were hard-pressed to find a selfish bone in her body, and her spirit of meekness was an example for all. Those who knew her best have no doubt of her salvation and eternal home.

Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Fred Frye of Morrill Kansas; her two sons, Mike Frye and his wife, Kristi of Seneca Kansas and Brandon Frye and his wife, Krystal of Oneida Kansas; her sister, Karen Johnson of Topeka Kansas and three nephews and 12 grandchildren.

Memorial services will be Friday, October 25, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Popkess Mortuary Chapel in Sabetha.  A visitation will be Thursday evening 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to the family or the Nemaha County Home Health and Hospice sent in care of the Popkess Mortuary, 823 Virginia Sabetha, Kansas.
