She was born on March 14, 1937 to Leo George and Beatrice Mars. Shirley was born and raised on the family farm and helped her dad with chores and helped her Mom with cooking. She loved to ride her horse Colonel. She graduated from Centralia High School in 1955. She was one of the captains of the cheerleading squad and homecoming queen her senior year. In 1955, she married Lester Jule Davin and had four children. In El Paso, TX she liked to bowl and bowled on various leagues. She volunteered at Seton Hospital and drove cancer patients to their appointments.   She also enjoyed volunteering at the University of Texas Basketball and Football games.  She attended church each Sunday and any opportunity they had available at church to serve, she would serve. She made crafts and had a craft booth for several years. She loved to walk and could walk for many miles and still want to keep walking. Shirley loved music and anytime it played she would begin to dance.

She lived life to the fullest every day. Like her dad, she never met a stranger and she always had time to enjoy listening and talking to her new friends. Shirley wanted to tell everyone of her love for Jesus Christ and how he had changed her life. She deeply loved her family, her church family and her many friends. She will be sorely missed.
