Sonja Metzger

S onja K. Metzger,76 of Sabetha the beloved sister of Cass Metzger Schorsch passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at the Sabetha Community Hospital. She was born in Sabetha, Kansas on April 14, 1937, to the late Albert Metzger and Kathryn Summers. During her life she lived with her grandparents, Peter and Edith Summers of Sabetha and in Chicago, Illinois with her mother Kathryn. In 1977 she moved to the Apostolic Christian Home in Morton, Illinois where she lived until coming back home to the Sabetha Apostolic Christian Nursing Home. Sonja was known for her beautiful smile at the Apostolic Christian Home and will be missed by her sister, Cass, and family of cousins as well as the many nurses and aides that helped her enjoy life at the Apostolic Christian Home.
There will be a memorial service for Sonja at a later date. The burial was in the Sabetha Cemetery. The Popkess Mortuary in Sabetha was in charge of arrangements.
