Sue Durland

Sue Durland, 60, of Centralia, KS died Saturday, July 28, 2007 at the Onaga Community Hospital in Onaga, KS.

She was born September 20, 1946 in Axtell, KS the daughter of Nelson G. Torrey and Rose Mary Henry Torrey. She graduated from Axtell High School in 1964.

On November 5, 1965 she married Richard Durland at Axtell, KS, he survives of the home in Centralia

For several years they lived in Topeka, KS an on January 1, 1970 they moved to Centralia where they made their home.

Sue was preceded in death by a brother Raymond Torrey in 2004.
She is survived by her husband Richard of Centralia, KS; two sons Wayne and Mali Durland and Craig and Kim all of Centralia, KS; two daughters, Stacy Durland and Mike Mitchell of Eskridge, KS and Brenda Durland of Centralia, KS; three brothers, Gerald Torrey of Axtell, KS Jim Torrey of Sabetha, KS and Bill Torrey also of Axtell, KS; two sisters, Joann Welliver of Riverside, MO and Phyllis Turney of Shawnee Mission, KS; and six grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday July 31, 2007 at 10:00 AM at the St. Michael's Catholic Church in Axtell, KS. Father Albert Hauser OSB will conduct the services. Dirk Colgrove will sing Amazing Grace and The Old Rugged Cross. Casket bearers are Wayne Durland, Craig Durland, Ken Vernon, Greg Welliver, Phil Welliver and Pat Welliver. Honorary casket bearers are Brenda Durland, Stacy Durland and David Waltrers. Greeters are Andy Torrey and Robert Torrey. Burial will be in the Centralia, Cemetery at Centralia, KS. A visitation will be Monday evening from 7-8:30 PM at the Hayes-Popkess Funeral Home in Centralia. Memorials are being left to the Sue Durland Memorial Fund of which a specific memorial will be designated at a later date
