T. Colleen Hartter

T helma Colleen Hartter, 90, of Sabetha, KS died Sunday, January 21, 2018.

She was born December 25, 1927, on a farm near Capioma, Kansas the daughter of Roy and Susie (McKenzie) McKee. She was a 1945 graduate of Sabetha High School.

She married Joseph Morgan on April 28, 1951. They lived at Springer, New Mexico and Tucson, Arizona, before moving to Sabetha in 1962. He died in 1973. She married Arthur Hartter on August 23, 1977. They resided in Sabetha. He died in 1997.

Colleen was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #7285 Auxiliary of Sabetha. She was a 23-year clerical employee of Kansas Gas Service, working in Sabetha and Hiawatha.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Bruce McKee, John Ray McKee, George Hobart McKee and Otis McKee; and sisters, Irene Cramer, Blanche Ellsworth and Geraldine Mishler.

Survivors include a brother-in-law, sister-in-law, nephews, nieces and cousins.

Funeral service will be Thursday, January 25, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Popkess Mortuary in Sabetha.   Visitation will be Thursday, January 25, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. prior to service time at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow at a later date at Sabetha Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be designated to Sabetha Community Hospital, sent in care of the Popkess Mortuary, 823 Virginia, Sabetha, Kansas 66534.
