Vernon Duckers

Vernon F Duckers, 103, died Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at the Nemaha Valley Community Hospital, Seneca.
He was born the oldest of seven children to Harry Duckers and Elizabeth Jones Duckers, September 15, 1904 on a farm south of Fairview, Kansas.
He married Zelda Hampton February 14, 1929 at Hiawatha. She preceded him in death February 24, 2005.
Vernon was a farmer south of Fairview. He was a member of the Congregational Church and the Senior Citizens Group, both of Seneca.
He is survived by a daughter, Marilyn Winkler, Seneca; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandson.
He was preceded in death by all of his siblings; a son, Gerald Duckers; and a grand daughter, Kathy Duckers.
Graveside services will be Friday, August 22, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wetmore Cemetery. Family members will provide the service and be casket bearers. Vocalists will be grand daughters, Shelbie and Kesley Moore. He will lie in state Thursday, August 21, 2008 at the Popkess Mortuary chapel, Seneca. Burial will be in the Wetmore Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be left to the Congregational Church, Seneca and left in care of the funeral home.
