Virginia Gresham

Virginia (Ginny) Lee Gresham, 65, of Sabetha died peacefully at home Saturday, October 24, 2009 with her children by her side. She was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas on October 28, 1943 to Lois and Dean Corbin.


Ginny attended Scandia High School in Scandia, Kansas and graduated in 1965. She was united in marriage to Robert J. Gresham on December 3, 1967, they later divorced. They lived in several places before settling in Sabetha, Kansas to raise their family. Ginny worked as a CNA at the Apostolic Christian Home and Fountain Villa and most recently worked at Buzz Cafe. Ginny loved the people she worked with so it was hard on her when she retired a few years ago.


She is preceded in death by her parents, Lois and Dean Corbin, her grandmother, Margaret L. Corbin who raised her from a young age and a granddaughter, Payton Richards.
Ginny is survived by her three children and one very spoiled cat named Stinker. A daughter, Tina Richards and her husband, Jason of Lincoln, Nebraska; two sons, Robert D. Gresham and his wife, Sherry and Jamie Gresham and his wife, Ivy all of Falls City Nebraska. She is also survived by nine grandchildren who all loved her very much.


Funeral services will be Friday, October 30, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the Popkess Mortuary Chapel in Sabetha. A family visitation will be Thursday evening 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. The interment will be made in Riverview Cemetery in Scandia, Kansas at 4:00 p.m. The memorial contribution may be made to the C.A.P.S. (Community Animal Protection Society) sent in care of the funeral home.
