Wavia Edelman

Wavia Louise Edelman, 91, of Sabeha died on March 24, 2012 at the Apostolic Christian Home in Sabetha.  She was born on January 10, 1921 the daughter of John Edelman and Mary (Bauman) Edelman on  the family farm southwest of Sabetha.  She grew up in the Sabetha area and was a member of the Christian Apostolic Church in Sabetha.  She worked at the Sabetha Community Hospital for 22 years as a very caring practical nurse and also took care of the home place where her father lived until his death in 1960.  She enjoyed doing garden work and a great variety of handcrafts, which she generously shared with relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers, Levi Edelman, Andrew Edelman, George Edelman, Emil Edelman, David Edelman, Phillip Edelman and John J. Edelman; three sisters, Anna Edelman, Neoma Edelman, and Ruth Edelman.  She is survived by three sisters, Adeline Kaeb of Fairbury, Illinois, Fanny Menold of Santa Fe Springs, California and Mary Edelman of Sabetha, Kansas and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Christian Apostolic Church in Sabetha.  A visitation will be Tuesday evening, March 27, 2012 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Popkess Mortuary Chapel in Sabetha.  The interment will be made in the Bern Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Apostolic Christian Home, Sabetha Community Hospital or the chariety of the donor's choice sent in care of the funeral home.
