Wayne Max Wisemiller

Wayne Max Wisemiller, 92, of Sabetha, Kansas, passed away on Monday, December 29, 2025, at the Sabetha Manor in Sabetha.

Wayne was born on December 20, 1933, in Marysville, Kansas, to Roy and Wilma (Ingle) Wisemiller. He graduated from Marysville High School in 1952.

Wayne met Ruth Arlene Fisher in high school, and they married in March 1954. They were blessed with five wonderful children, Alan, Bruce, Laura, Linda, and Bryce. After living in Fairview and Horton, the family eventually fulfilled their dream of owning 30 acres of timber south of Sabetha. With a love of animals, Wayne and his family raised beagles for years, fed deer and other wildlife with salt blocks and apple-flavored corn for over 50 years.

Wayne had many talents and accomplishments throughout his life, including building a car and flying his Cessna 140. He also enjoyed tackling repairs on vehicles and household items, and he loved the learning experience that each challenge brought.

Wayne’s love for movies ranging from “Lawrence of Arabia” to “Blazing Saddles” can be attributed to his work experiences at the movie theater during high school, where he operated the projection booth.

Wayne owned and operated a milk route, delivering Sweet Clover products throughout the community for many years. After retiring and selling his business, Wayne enjoyed driving a school bus for the Sabetha school district.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Alan.

Wayne is survived by his four children, Bruce, Laura, Linda (Paul), and Bryce (Kim); his two granddaughters, Danielle (Adam) and Krista (Kris); and his four great-grandchildren.

A private family graveside service and interment will be held at the Marysville Cemetery in Marysville, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Wayne’s name to the Brown County Humane Society in Hiawatha, Kansas, honoring his love of animals, sent in care of Popkess Mortuary, 823 Virginia Street, Sabetha, Kansas 66534.
