W ilfred “Bill” L. Banks, 91, of Sabetha, Kansas passed away Sunday, November 3, 2019 at the Apostolic Christian Home.
Bill was born February 17, 1928 south of Sabetha to James and Nellie (Meyer) Banks. Bill attended Fidelity Grade School, and graduated from Sabetha High School in 1946. He enjoyed farming on the family farm. After graduation he stayed at home to help make a home for his brother, Clarence who was handicapped. He later worked for nine years at Wilde Tool Company in Hiawatha, and then for Wenger Manufacturing for 19 years. Bill retired in 1993. His sister Frances retired in 1985 and made her home with Bill. He enjoyed walking, spending time with family, Royals baseball and the Kansas City Chiefs.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Clarence in 1961, and John in 1995; his sister, Frances in 1999; and his sister-in-law, Pauline.
He is survived by his adopted family, Carl and Holly Wisdom of Sabetha, Kansas, and their children Ryley, Lexi, and Derik.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sabetha Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sabetha Community Hospital or the American Heart Association, sent in care of Popkess Mortuary, 823 Virginia Street, Sabetha, KS 66534.
